CeU is an association which was founded in December 2018, in Marseille, France. It is through solidarity between artists, donors and volunteers that CeU has been able to support artists who have had to abandon their countries in conditions of absolute emergency. After five years of inspiring experiences and intense collaborations with migrant artists, as well as partnerships with various associations and institutions, it became clear within CeU that in addition to supporting artistic expression, it was also imperative to set up the Magnolia Art Residency, a safe, caring haven for artists, queer and feminist activists.
CeU provides ongoing, sustainable commitment in situations where artists are vulnerable due to serious geo-political and social crises.
CeU is run by a team of passionate volunteers, art professionals and committed individuals.

We provide support on a case-by-case basis, depending on artists’ needs and our capacity to assist with - artistic advice, material and financial support as well as artistic residencies in partnership.
Exile, precariousness and isolation make artists vulnerable, but creation remains crucial - a force for overcoming trauma and holding a mirror up to reality. We believe in the power of art to bring about social change.
CeU raises funds through a range of activities. We organize events in France and abroad, charity auctions and fundraisers. We rely on a team of passionate people who provide significant support.
CeU also has an online shop where works by supporting artists are sold and through the catalyst, it gives donors, whether modest or major, the chance to contribute to the project sustainably.
Our resources come especially from private donations. Every gesture counts. By supporting us you sustain our mission.
Your support is crucial in allowing CeU to continue its mission to help artists in forced migration. Every donation, every sale of a work of art, contributes to maintaining creative activity at a time of often long-term fragility.
We are a team of passionate volunteers, driven by the desire to support artists and activists and contribute to a better world. We believe in the power of civil society, regardless of nationality, territory, colour, social class or beliefs. Together, we're experimenting with new ways of coming together, building a human community where everyone finds their place.
Join us in this social and artistic adventure! Make a donation today and contribute to making a real difference to our societies.
Please send us an email with your name, telephone number and current country of residence and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
