Since its creation in December 2018, CEU has tirelessly supported the artistic growth of several artists, adapting our approach to meet their unique needs.

We rely on the generosity of citizens and the support of artists to support their international counterparts across borders.

Thanks to this solidarity movement, we have been able to provide personalized support to:

Keita (France/Mali), the painter and mosaic artist Houda Moussa (France/Syria) and the writer Moneim Rahma (France/Sudan) 2019-2023 as well as the video journalist and artisan Hiba Yassin (Lebanon/Palestine) since March 2021-2023. We have been collaborating with RAD music international (Lesbos, Greece) and the artist and graffiti artist Murad Subay (France/Yemen) since May 2023. In 2021, Créations en urgence had the opportunity to support a dozen young artists in Lebanon thanks to a fundraising campaign. In 2023/2024, we co-organized a fundraiser to welcome artists from Gaza and their families for artistic residencies in France in collaboration with Ma'an pour Gaza and the Bains Douches Art'cade gallery in Marseille. In addition, CEU has also provided assistance to other artists through specific and one-off requests.

I SUPPORT

Since 2019, more than €70,000 has been invested to support dozens of artists forced to flee their countries or living in countries in crisis. Exile, precariousness and isolation weaken artists. But creation remains a necessity, a force to overcome trauma and bear witness to reality. We believe in the power of art to change the world.

Thanks to you, we can offer personalized support, emergency financial assistance to maintain creation and residencies.

CEU offers a refuge where queer and feminist artists, intellectuals and activists in danger, whether they are migrants or living in countries in crisis, can find a space for freedom of expression, creativity and recovery.
