Créations en Urgence (CEU) is a platform offering support to artists and the driving force behind the Magnolia Art Residency.
CEU is an association which was founded in December 2018, in Marseille, France. It is through solidarity between artists and volunteers that CEU has been able to support artists who have had to abandon their countries in conditions of absolute emergency. After five years of inspiring experiences and intense collaborations with migrant artists, as well as partnerships with various associations and institutions, it became clear within CEU that in addition to supporting artistic expression, it was also imperative to set up the Magnolia Art Residency, a safe, caring haven for artists, queer activists and feminists at risk.
CEU provides ongoing, sustainable commitment in situations where artists are vulnerable due to serious geo-political and social crises.
CEU is run by a team of passionate volunteers, art professionals and committed individuals.

We provide support on a case-by-case basis, depending on artists’ needs and our capacity to assist with - artistic advice, material and financial support as well as artistic residencies in partnership.
Why create in an emergency?
Exile, precariousness and isolation make artists vulnerable, but creation remains crucial - a force for overcoming trauma and holding a mirror up to reality. We believe in the power of art to bring about social change.
Why should you support us?
Our resources come exclusively from private donations. Every gesture counts. By supporting us you enable artists to continue to create, express themselves and live.
Your support is crucial in allowing CEU to continue its mission to help artists in forced migration. Every donation, every sale of a work of art, contributes to maintaining creative activity at a time of often long-term fragility.
We are a team of passionate volunteers, driven by the desire to support artists and contribute to a better world. Helping others is our driving force - solidarity our joy. We believe in the power of civil society, regardless of nationality, territory, colour, social class or beliefs. Together, we're experimenting with new ways of coming together, building a human community where everyone finds their place.
Join us in this social and artistic adventure! Make a donation today and contribute to making a real difference to our societies.
Since its creation in December 2018, CEU has tirelessly supported the artistic growth of many artists, adapting our approach to meet their unique needs. We rely on the generosity of citizens and the support of artists to provide assistance to their international counterparts, beyond borders.
Thanks to this movement fuelled by solidarity, we have been able to provide personalised support to :
Keita (France/Mali), painter and mosaic artist Houda Moussa (France/Syria) and writer Moneim Rahma (France/Sudan) 2019- 2023.
Video journalist and craftswoman Hiba Yassin (Lebanon/Palestine) from March 2021-2023.
We have been collaborating with RAD music international (Lesbos, Greece) and graffiti artist Murad Subay (France/Yemen) since May 2023.
In 2021, Créations en urgence had the opportunity to support a dozen young artists in Lebanon through a fundraising campaign. In 2023/2024, we co-organized a fundraising campaign to welcome artists from Gaza and their families for artistic residencies in France.
The organisation has also helped other artists through specific, one-off requests.
Since its inception in 2019, CEU has steadfastly supported the artistic growth of several artists, tailoring our approach to meet their unique needs. Thanks to your support, we can offer personalised support packages, emergency financial aid to maintain creative activity and residencies.
CEU offers a safe haven where endangered artists, intellectuals, queer and feminist activists, whether migrants or living in countries in crisis, can find a space for freedom of expression, creativity and recuperation.
For any issues related to transfers, we kindly ask you to make your contribution directly to our bank account and to send us a brief note regarding the matter.
